The following table has been compiled primarily from information contained in the Austin Rover publication "Driving is Believing" (Publication No. 3615 B, dated Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, 1984). Details are believed to be applicable only to cars manufactured between 1982 and 1984, and, additionally, there may well be errors in the original (frankly, I find it hard to believe that all Silver Leaf Metallic cars were fitted with Osprey trim, when Bounty Blue would have looked so much better - especially since I know at least one 1982 car where the VIN plate shows that it was painted MME and trimmed JNG when it left the factory...). Different paint colours were available on earlier cars (cars in Ember Glow red (CMN) are known, for example), Details of errors in, or variations to, the following would be most gratefully received by the webmaster.

Trim codes do not tell the whole story. Note, for example, that Sandpiper trim in Shetland Tweed, and Sandpiper trim in Raschelle both had the same trim code. The trim codes tell you little more than: basically beige (Sandpiper), basically chocolate (Brushwood), basically blue-grey (Bounty Blue) and basically grey-brown (Osprey). There were major differences between the meanings of the same trim codes on different models: the nominally-Sandpiper trim on a 1984 CD included Brushwood dash, door-cappings, and carpets, for example.
The four material types were effectively: cloth (Marle), poncy cloth (Shetland Tweed), velour (Hairline Velvet), and poncy velour (Raschelle).
It is mildly interesting to note that with the Acclaim, the choice of exterior colour determined the interior trim: some other cars in the Austin Rover range, such as the Rover 2600, 3500 and Vanden Plas, allowed you a choice. For example, a Black Rover Vanden Plas could be had either with Brushwood or Osprey trim (although I cannot imagine anyone choosing Brushwood!).
Avon Styling
The following information is mostly taken from examination of Eamonn Moran's Avon Acclaim CD , SAXXDELX7BM139890 (Avon reference 682AC044), and from Eddie Evans' article, "Acclaim to Fame" in Triumph World magazine No. 41, of December/January, 2002.
Ladbroke Avon Limited, of Millers Road, Warwick, offered a styling package for all Acclaim models (however, I suspect that few owners of L or HL cars paid the thousands of pounds that the package cost - a new Acclaim L cost only £4,998 at the time!). For your money, you got the following:

Another option was the Avon/Turbo Technics Turbo conversion, at an additional cost of £3,000, which added a Garret AiResearch turbocharger to the engine, and also gave you:
(I understand that the Avon Turbo specification also included an optional upgraded interior, with two-tone velour-covered racing seats, a sports steering wheel and other such fancies. Further details are actively being sought.)
